Marvel’s Ant Man and the Wasp is doing incredible business globally. It’s dominating the box office worldwide with $68 million box office in China.
Marvel has done phenomenally well in comic book movies this year. Avengers: Infinity War, Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther, Deadpool 2, and now Ant Man have all proven the comic book entertainment giant’s popularity and success.
Marvel’s movies are a mix of action, comedy, drama, and special effects with some pretty good acting as well. Ant Man and the Wasp particularly is more of an action comedy than a serious action thriller.
Thor: Ragnarok also had many laugh-out-loud moments from the beginning and it almost looks like both movies are parodying super hero action thrillers. All the movies are part of Marvel’s connected movie universe which ties all of them together.
Ant Man and the Wasp looks great on IMAX 3D and that’s the way to watch it. There’s a reference to Avengers: Infinity War in the post-credits scene. Paul Rudd plays Ant Man brilliantly and its quite surprising one of his first major hits was Clueless from 1995.
He was then paired with Alicia Silverstone who also was on the heels of becoming a major Hollywood star. Ironically she starred in Batman and Robin (1997) which was a critically panned comic book movie.
Paul Rudd is expected to return as Ant Man on screen and he will definitely impress fans all over again. He does a fantastic job as Scott Lang who is Ant Man’s alter ego. He plays the role of father, super hero and managing work all in one movie to perfection.
Ant Man and the Wasp is still playing in theaters currently and it’s worth watching if you haven’t seen it yet.
